The Cape Breton Connector Program

Cape Breton & Victoria County (NS) - The Cape Breton County Economic Development Authority (CBCEDA) is rolling out a new and exciting initiative at Center 200 on May 28, 2012, 12:00 noon - The Cape Breton Connector Program.

The program is designed as a formalized networking initiative for eligible immigrants and international students that are put directly in touch with the preparation for employment opportunities via existing and professional networks. Through scheduled meetings with influential business leaders known as Connectors, the participants will be provided the opportunity to discuss the local job market, latest industry trends, tips for navigating career-related issues.

The Cape Breton Connector Program aims to create awareness among local business about the pool of international talent coming into our region with immigrants and international students.

In the very near future CBCEDA will be rolling out with Cape Breton University Students in Free Enterprise an adaptation Model of the Connector Program for the retention of local Cape Breton youth.  The connector program is a key under pinning for CBCEDA’s Population Model in its efforts to diversity and retain our local youth who wish to remain in Cape Breton.

During the launch of the Connector Program, the Sydney and Area Chamber of Commerce will also be making a special announcement.

The Cape Breton Connector program is funded by the Nova Scotia Office of Immigration.
