CBCEDA and its partners are working collectively
on creating an atmosphere to attract new businesses
and opportunities for development in Cape Breton County.

CBCEDA and its partners are continuing to market and
promote Cape Breton Island as a retirement destination.

Cape Breton County's first sound stage, Filmscape Studios, was the
home of the television series, Pit Pony. CBCEDA is responsible to
maintain the facility and is currently working with an advisory committee
on developing and implementing a marketing plan that will be aimed at
attracting movies, TV production, music videos, etc. In consultation
of what producers want and need in order to make decisions on locations,
CBCEDA launched website, www.filmcapebreton.com

Through programs like the Think Cape Breton First program, the Good
News Network, the Retirement Cape program, the Sports Coordinator,
Business Case for Investment, Cape Bretoners Making a Difference,
Metropolitan Cape Breton Fact Book, CD Promotional Advertisement etc.,
CBCEDA and its partners have demonstrated a one-team approach to
marketing Cape Breton County.

CBCEDA will continue to work with communities and
partners to research, update, and recommend economic
development initiatives/options that are determined viable.
