The objectives of the Think Cape Breton First Program were to instill long-term attitudinal change in terms of Cape Bretoner’s purchasing patterns, and motivate Cape Bretoners to ‘Think Cape Breton First’ when buying.  The economic impact of recapturing even a portion of this spending was the impetus that brought the original Think Cape Breton First organizing committee together.

The Think Cape Breton First Program was created by the Cape Breton County Economic Development Authority along with input from the private sector, the agricultural sector, and the business sector.  Under the ownership of the Cape Breton County Economic Development Authority, the responsibility of the Think Cape Breton First Program has been left to CBCEDA to guide and nurture the campaign process.
