The 1st Cape Breton Newcomers Forum is an initiative that is designed to celebrate, promote, attract, and retain Newcomers in Cape Breton.
 
Cape Breton County Economic Development Authority (CBCEDA) engages a proactive involvement in population strategy and youth retention for the Island. Community leadership and involvement are critical to the success of such initiatives with the collaboration of Federal, Provincial, and Municipal partners along with community stakeholders’ organizations.
 
Newcomers: Value to Our Communities!

This event will emphasize the role of economic and social factors through bringing Newcomers together with leaders in government, policy makers, service providers, policy practitioners, academia, and business community organizations. The Newcomers Forum aims at turning the attention to the importance of Newcomers and integration matters while celebrating the diversity of Cape Breton Island. This event will provide insight to all stakeholders involved in the local, regional, federal sectors and possible solutions for retaining more Newcomers in Cape Breton. Moreover, it will give Newcomers access to service agencies and government officials and the opportunity to address important issues, policies, and challenges related to settlement, integration, and retention in Cape Breton.

We are expecting approximately over 200 attendees composed of Newcomers, government representatives, business leaders and community members to gather at this forum to forge partnerships essential for building the population base and creating new business ventures within our region.
